The MAS Founder Pavilion for the Port of Antwerp wants to allow a diverse public to discover and experience the port. This takes place on different media platforms with different levels of depth and exploration. The whole is brought together in a compact space, where many functions are combined in a limited surface area. In this way, in addition to interior architecture, media architecture is of paramount importance in this project: a perfect integration of form and message, of architecture and media. The technology is disregarded and becomes one with the form. The concept is based on a SILO shape suspended in the middle of the room in which 360° panoramic projection is provided. The SILO shape is always palpable and also provides extra appeal, creating a pattern of expectation. Raw, honest finishing materials – engaging in dialogue with the smooth high-end finish of the SILO – are used for the seating and floor covering.

The pavilion is a far-reaching, architectural balancing act in which environment, architecture, interior, technology and multimedia merge seamlessly as if it were a single discipline.
