BINST ARCHITECTS is transforming a former weaving mill site in Hove into a contemporary residential environment where existing heritage and new construction reinforce each other.
The new residential volumes are carefully integrated within a landscaped park setting, responding in scale and materiality to the industrial history of the site. Brick forms the basis of the architecture, with the two urban villas presenting a refined composition of masonry tones, patterns and applications that refer to the former weaving mill. The elegant horizontality of the freestanding volumes, conceived as pavilions within the landscape, ensures a subtle integration into the surrounding context.
The project creates a sustainable residential environment where heritage, architecture and landscape give the former weaving mill a new future.
