The Urban: Contemporary Living in the Heart of Antwerp
Located at a prominent vantage point along the Leien in Antwerp, The Urban introduces a forward-thinking redevelopment project that seamlessly blends residential living, hospitality, and urban experience. Its architecture offers a contemporary interpretation of the city’s historical fabric, integrating effortlessly into the existing streetscape.
A striking façade concept, defined by a clean and rhythmic grid, gives the building its strong identity. Vertical pilasters in high-quality brickwork and architectural concrete create a balanced composition that enhances its architectural expression. The ground floor, executed in architectural concrete, establishes a solid foundation, anchoring the commercial functions within the streetscape. The upper floors feature an elegant brickwork pattern in light tones, subtly harmonizing with the surrounding buildings.
The façade’s articulation is further emphasized by cantilevered terraces, meticulously integrated into the structural grid. The top floor is crowned with a recessed cornice, shaping a refined silhouette that respects the scale of the square and enhances the dialogue with the city.
The apartments are designed with a focus on spaciousness and natural light, featuring generous terraces that blur the boundary between indoor and outdoor living.
