The house is conceived as a floating studio residence, which rises above ground level. Because of its location within an agricultural area, the residential studio is conceived as a pavilion integrated in its natural environment. The floor plan is designed in such a way that the various functions move like a passive shell around the living space. This buffer is pierced at a number of strategic places and creates various lines of sight and relationships with the environment in the living space. By scanning and seeking out nature, the boundary inside / outside is blurred and the house becomes one with its surroundings. The closed sections of the façade were built from vertical wooden planking, in which the front door and bedroom windows were also concealed. Each of the penetrations in the passive shell has been assigned a material or colour that defines the areas and thus creates different atmospheres within the shell. The exterior joinery was fitted with black aluminium profiles.
