“Leisure Village” in a Classic Flemish Village – a vision of small scale with big ambitions
In a gently rolling agricultural landscape in the heart of Flanders—where natural topography and out-of-zone structures create a unique setting—we are working closely with our client to define the contours of an extraordinary project. We are searching for a holistic concept that weaves urban planning, architecture, and landscape into a harmonious whole, aligned with the ambitions and character of an innovative business model.
Under the banner of “Leisure Village,” we are bringing together a rich and diverse program where art, literature, music, and vintage cars play a prominent role. Within the context of an archetypal Flemish village center—where scale and history are defining factors—we aim to translate this multifaceted program into a thoughtful and sustainable development.
The project presents a fascinating design challenge, shaped by complex boundary conditions such as zoning irregularities, heritage protection, and flood-prone areas. We believe in a solution that not only meets the programmatic requirements, but also contributes added value to the wider region.
Living, working, leisure, and connection: we seek to integrate these elements into a strong architectural ensemble where materials and spatial experience take center stage. Not a traditional farmhouse, but a contemporary composition that brings large-scale ideas to life on a human scale. With “Leisure Village,” we are opening a conversation about a new way of building and experiencing—authentic, timeless, and in balance with its environment.
