Renovation of the Galilee building in Brussels
Binst Architects won the competition launched by Belfius Insurance for the refurbishment of the Galilee Building, centrally located near the Botanical Garden in the centre of Brussels.
The assignment comprises the renovation of 10 office floors and a ground level comprising conference facilities, with a total surface area of more than 37,000 m² above ground. The office zones must be optimally transformed in a dynamic way in accordance with the principles of the New Way of Working, in which healthy and sustainable cooperation are paramount.
Once completed, the entire building will house the staff of the National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (RIZIV), the Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAMHP) and the Federal Public Service Public Health, Food Chain Safety and the Environment (FPS FCSE).
For health administration staff, the new building will soon mean greater visibility for the citizen, a working environment focused on cooperation across the three organisations, extra comfort for staff and partners, and an appropriate contemporary and fresh architectural translation for their activities.
