De Mouterij
‘Housing of tomorrow’ can be grateful to historical sites that are undergoing a compelling second lease of life thanks to sympathetic transformations. The former ‘De Mouterij‘ in Putte, for example, forms the strong backbone of a new development.
The building will be transformed in all its glory with a new façade envelope in brick. The floors will be re-classified as apartments, the pedestal with commercial space represents the receptive and inviting character of the site, as a gateway to the urban villas to the rear.
As a landmark in the surroundings, De Mouterij will be enhanced with a limited additional level as the crowning glory of the building. Parallel to the road, this development foresees an extension of De Mouterij in its own contemporary architecture with fresh accents and a warm look. The four solitary park volumes are airy and suitable for the terrain around a central location to spend time. Sleek, undulating paths open up the many corner apartments with large living terraces.
